Matthew Pierce

Matthew has 16 years of experience in the financial services and insurance industry. He began his career with Co-operators in 2010, where he managed a farm insurance portfolio and was an assistant to the Senior Financial Advisor. He was responsible for promoting the importance of having a holistic wealth and estate plan and had the responsibility of booking appointments for the Senior Financial Advisor. In 2021, Matthew became the agency owner of the office in Olds, AB, which began operating as Pierce Insurance Financial Group Inc. Since that time, his focus has been establishing a team of professionals to provide financial security to our clients and communities. 

 He has attained the Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP™) designation in addition to holding his Life, including Accident & Sickness, and General licences. Matthew specializes in farm estate and succession planning, along with retirement planning. While assisting his farm and business clients in the financial planning areas that we offer, he always takes a co-ordinated approach in acting as a liaison between his clients and their legal and tax professionals to ensure his recommendations make sense. His clients include business owners, farming families, retirees, healthcare professionals, families, and individuals.

Matthew grew up in Swift Current, SK. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys getting out in the community, curling, golfing, hiking, travelling, and spending time with his wife, Becky, their son, Tai, and their two puppies, Ghost and Luna.

Becky Pierce

Associate Insurance Advisor II

Becky grew up in Chestermere, AB. After completing high school, she attended various post-secondary programs, earning her Emergency Medical Responder Certificate, an Oil and Gas Administration Diploma and a Safety, Health and Environmental Management Diploma. Becky has also obtained her General Level II Insurance Licence as well as her Life, including Accident & Sickness Licence. She is currently continuing her professional development by working toward her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.

Becky began her career with Co-operators in August 2020. Prior to entering the insurance industry, she spent over a decade in the Health and Safety field, making her transition into her role as a Commercial Insurance Advisor a natural fit. Becky uses her knowledge and experience to provide clients with individualized advice and takes pride in helping business owners protect one of their most valuable assets. In addition to her business expertise, Becky works closely with clients on their personal insurance needs, offering guidance on life insurance solutions and Edge Disability coverage to help protect their families and financial well-being.

Becky enjoys meeting clients and building lasting relationships. In her spare time, you can find her playing ice sports, going to the gym, travelling and spending time with her husband, their son, and their two pomskies, Luna and Ghost.

Carolyn Djakovic

Associate Financial Advisor

Carolyn has been a proud member of Co-operators since 2017. Prior to joining the Co-operators team, she attended Olds College where she attained her Agriculture Management Diploma, majoring in Financial Services. After graduating college, she moved to British Columbia, where she realized she missed working in the agricultural industry, so she decided to make the move back to Olds to pursue a career with Co-operators.

Carolyn is one of our commercial and farm specialists. She specializes in large, specialized risks. She also carries her Life and Accident and Sickness licences where she focuses on life, disability and critical illness insurance planning. She is passionate in using her knowledge to work with business owners and farmers to create a plan that meets their unique needs and financial goals.

Carolyn resides in the town of Olds with her two dogs and horse. If she isn't working, you can find her heading west to the mountains to dirt bike or sled. She also loves to support the town of Olds and surrounding communities by attending local fundraisers and events, especially if they have anything to do with horses.

Cheryl Dirks

Associate Insurance Advisor II

Cheryl grew up in Red Deer, Alberta, and earned her Office Administration Diploma in 2005. She dedicated several years to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom before beginning her professional career in the administrative and insurance industries.

Cheryl joined Co-operators in Olds in May 2022. Within her first year, she successfully obtained her Level 2 General Insurance Licence through the Alberta Insurance Council. Cheryl specializes in farm insurance and brings a strong commitment to providing accurate advice and tailored solutions for her clients. She is passionate about problem-solving and takes pride in building well-structured insurance portfolios that ensure her clients are fully protected.

Cheryl has become a welcoming and trusted presence in the office, enjoying the opportunity to connect with both new and long-standing clients. Her approachable nature and dedication to service contribute to positive client experiences.

Cheryl lives in Bowden with her husband and their three children. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Chris Alas

Chris brings over seven years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong background serving high-net-worth clients in the Health Care & Professional banking sector. A graduate of Mount Royal University with a Business degree and a minor in Finance and Economics, Chris has built a career on delivering holistic financial advice.

At Pierce Insurance Financial Group, Chris specializes in comprehensive planning, including investment and retirement strategies, along with risk management solutions focused on life, critical illness and disability insurance. His previous role as a Financial Advisor at a major Canadian bank allowed him to develop expertise in retirement planning, wealth strategies and mortgage solutions, experience he now leverages to help clients achieve their long-term goals.

Outside of the office, Chris is passionate about living an active lifestyle. He can often be found boxing, playing soccer, hiking, or honing his golf game. He values quality time with family and friends.

Dawn Reimer

Associate Insurance Advisor II

Dawn brings extensive experience in delivering top-notch customer service to her valued clients. She began her journey with Co-operators in June 2023 and recently obtained her General Level II Insurance Licence. Dawn proudly supports our agency's auto, home and travel clients with care and professionalism.

Having been a proud resident of Olds, Alberta for over 16 years, she is deeply rooted in the community and actively contributes as a board member for the local football program.

Outside of work, Dawn is busy trying to keep up with her four active kids. She enjoys hiking, hitting the gym, and enjoying great food with family and friends.

Janaye Gerrard

Associate Insurance Advisor I

Janaye began her career with Co-operators March of 2025. She was born and raised in Calgary, but she briefly lived in Texas before returning to her home province of Alberta. She has now settled in Olds with her partner where they are very happy and grateful to call our great community home.

Janaye brings a diverse background in hairstyling, reception, and customer service, all of which have shaped her strong commitment to providing exceptional client experiences. She is passionate about helping people and takes pride in creating meaningful connections with everyone she meets. Being a part of Co-operators provides Janaye the opportunity to work in a rewarding environment that allows her to support others and be a part of a team that offers peace of mind through providing reliable coverage during difficult times.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Harley, and their dog, Bambi. They love exploring the outdoors whether it’s hiking or visiting some of their favourite lakes. She is also passionate about fitness and makes it a priority to get to the gym whenever she can.

Maria Van Noordenburg

Maria began her journey with Co-operators in May 2024, bringing with her prior experience in the insurance industry. Since joining the agency, she has earned her General Level II License and continues to expand her expertise. She is committed to providing personalized, knowledgeable service to clients across auto, home and farm insurance. With a focus on building strong relationships and delivering tailored solutions, she takes pride in helping clients protect what matters most.

Originally from the Netherlands, Maria moved to Canada in 2008 with her husband and their three daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, riding her horses and being involved in the various equine sports her daughters participate in. Maria’s diverse experience and passion make her a valued member of our team.

Taylor McDonald

Associate Insurance Advisor II

Taylor joined the Co-operators team in February 2024. He was raised in Olds and maintains strong connections to the community through family and friends. In 2024, Taylor obtained his General Level 1 Insurance Licence and now works with our clients to address their home and auto insurance needs.

With over a decade of combined experience in customer service and administration, Taylor is dedicated to solving clients’ problems and takes pride in ensuring their satisfaction.

In his free time, Taylor enjoys reading, golfing, playing video games and spending time with his wife, Grace, and their puppy Lily.
